TOKENS OF APPRECIATION
No matter the occasion, it's easy to get caught up in giving someone a useless gift just for the sake of giving something.
Give with intention
Presents don't have to be expensive and they don't have to be
meticulously handmade (unless that is what they want). Gifts could be time, experiences, or memories. They could also be food, subscriptions, or donating money for them. To give a gift with intention, it's important to think about what role it will play in their life. Will it add clutter to their homes? Will they throw it away? Or will they use it because they enjoy it and/or find it valuable? Gift giving is a love language, but these gifts don't have to be monetarily valuable, necessarily. Someone would probably appreciate a gift given with thought even more. Watch the video linked in resources for more intentional gift ideas.
Should you give your loved one that gift?
Is this something they will cherish and enjoy?
I'm not sure if
they will like it
Consider a different gift that shows the effort
you're putting into it
I know they
will love it
Will they end up throwing it away?
They might get
rid of it quickly
Find something that
won't add to waste or
I think this is a thing they'll keep
Is this something that they need/asking for?
Think of something that would be useful to
They've talked about it before
Or don't, it's up to you! Either way, you are now making a mindful and intentional decision
