Individually Wrapped Snacks

QUICK, CONVENIENT BITES

These chips, cookies, crackers or whatever you desire, are an easy way to bring food on the go. These are portioned and packaged in bags of plastic. However, there are other ways to pack a travel snack.

This convenience adds to waste. Some time and effort can

go a long way.

Alternatively, opt for sustainably-made snacks instead.

It saves a lot of time to be able to grab one of these snacks and go. But because of throw away culture, this habit has a negative environmental impact. Instead of purchasing individually wrapped snacks, you could also just buy this food in bulk and pack it yourself.

This does require some additional time and effort to set aside a portion and remember to prepare it. But, it is a small price to pay if reducing single-use products is important to you. Another way to make this practice more sustainable is to pack them in reusable containers (see plastic resealable bags, coming soon).

Maybe, you'd be interested in making your own snacks instead? This could be your own chips, cookies, crackers, or even your own granola bars! Many companies are now also rethinking their ingredients and packaging to support the environment.

Should you buy that small bag of chips?
